Longevity Life Sciences and Pharmako Biotechnologies advance next-generation formulation technology

Pharmako Biotechnologies — advanced formulation and delivery technology collaboration with Longevity Life Sciences

The Australian collaboration brings together cellular health ingredient innovation and advanced formulation and delivery technology.

Longevity Life Sciences is expanding its collaboration with Australian biotechnology company Pharmako Biotechnologies to explore advanced formulation and delivery technologies across the CellVive® platform.

Pharmako is the developer of PlexoZome®, an Australian-developed complex liquid liposomal technology. Pharmako states that its liposomes are characterised using technologies including dynamic light scattering, zeta potential testing and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy. PlexoZome® is a trademark owned by Pharmako Biotechnologies.

The relationship brings together complementary capabilities: LLS’s focus on cellular health science, ingredient development and regulatory translation, and Pharmako’s expertise in formulation science and advanced delivery systems.

CellVive NMN® Advance represents an early expression of the collaboration, bringing CellVive NMN® together with PlexoZome® technology within an advanced formulation.

The companies are now exploring opportunities for formulation technology to support future ingredients within the broader CellVive® pipeline.

Pharmako has built a broader research program around advanced delivery technologies. The company reports more than 30 human pharmacokinetic and clinical studies and more than 35 scientific publications across its technology portfolio.

Published peer-reviewed research has also specifically evaluated PlexoZome® formulations, including studies involving liposomal curcumin. Those studies provide evidence that the platform has been investigated scientifically, although findings relating to one active ingredient or formulation should not be extrapolated automatically to CellVive NMN® Advance.

For LLS, this reflects an important principle in translating emerging science.

The selection of an ingredient is only one part of product development. Ingredient characterisation, dose, formulation, stability, delivery, manufacturing quality, clinical evidence and regulatory positioning collectively influence how a promising technology can be translated into a high-quality health solution.

As CellVive® expands into additional areas of cellular health, LLS intends formulation science to remain an important part of that development process.
