The multi-year, multi-compound partnership will bring a pipeline of Mitsubishi Gas Chemical’s cellular health ingredients to Australia through the CellVive® platform, beginning with BioPQQ®.
Longevity Life Sciences (LLS) has entered into a multi-year, multi-compound strategic partnership with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. (MGC) to bring a pipeline of MGC-manufactured cellular health ingredients to the Australian market through the CellVive® platform.
The partnership will begin with BioPQQ®, MGC’s proprietary, fermentation-derived form of pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ).
Headquartered in Tokyo and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, MGC is a long-established Japanese chemical company recognised for its research-led manufacturing capabilities. Through its Life Sciences Division, MGC develops and manufactures functional ingredients for international markets, including BioPQQ®.
MGC pioneered the commercial-scale production of PQQ and has developed BioPQQ® for use in dietary supplements internationally. BioPQQ® has completed relevant regulatory processes in markets including the United States, Europe and Japan.
Under the partnership, BioPQQ® will become the next compound within the CellVive® platform to be advanced through Australia’s regulatory pathway for inclusion in the Therapeutic Goods (Permissible Ingredients) Determination.
Subject to successful regulatory assessment and inclusion in the Therapeutic Goods (Permissible Ingredients) Determination, BioPQQ® would provide Australian product developers with a pathway to formulate PQQ-containing Listed Medicines in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Extending the CellVive® platform
The partnership represents an important next phase in the development of CellVive®.
CellVive NMN® established the platform’s first major proof point, demonstrating how an emerging cellular health compound could be advanced through scientific assessment, regulatory development, manufacturing and commercialisation in Australia.
The MGC partnership extends that model across a broader pipeline of compounds.
LLS is developing CellVive® as a trusted, regulated platform for a portfolio of science-led, cellular health ingredients, combining the capabilities of global technology and manufacturing partners with scientific evaluation, regulatory development and commercial translation in Australia.
A comment from Longevity Life Sciences CEO
“Mitsubishi Gas Chemical is globally recognised for the quality, consistency and scientific rigour of its manufacturing, and we’re proud to be partnering with them in Australia.
“For a business of our size, a multi-year strategic partnership with a company of MGC’s standing is a significant milestone. It reflects the strength of the platform we are building and the opportunity both companies see in the global cellular health market.
“Consumers are increasingly interested in emerging longevity science, but they also want confidence in what they are buying and consuming. Our focus is on building a supply chain grounded in scientific evidence, traceability, consistent manufacturing and compliance with the regulatory requirements of each market.”
Sally Panton, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Longevity Life Sciences
Mitsubishi Gas Chemical perspective
“Longevity Life Sciences’ track record, ambition and commitment to responsible innovation made it a natural partner for us. Together, we see significant potential to build a trusted pipeline of cellular health ingredients, beginning in Australia, where the therapeutic-goods framework is highly regarded both locally and internationally.”

Why BioPQQ®
PQQ is being investigated for its role in cellular metabolism and mitochondrial biology.
Published human research has reported changes in markers associated with inflammation and mitochondrial-related metabolism following dietary PQQ administration. As with all emerging areas of cellular health research, LLS carefully distinguishes between biochemical or mechanistic findings and clinically demonstrated therapeutic outcomes.
BioPQQ® was selected as the first MGC ingredient to enter the CellVive® pipeline because its scientific and manufacturing profile complements LLS’s established focus on cellular energy biology.
Further compounds to be advanced under the MGC partnership will be announced separately.
